Welcome to Plume Dating (“Plume,” “we,” “our,” “us”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Plume application (the “Service”).
By creating an account or using Plume, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use Plume.

1. Eligibility

You must:

• Be 18 years or older

• Be legally permitted to use an online dating service

• Not have been previously banned from Plume

You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and truthful.

SMS Communications

By creating an account and providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Plume for authentication, security, and account-related purposes, including one-time passcodes (OTP).

Message frequency varies based on account activity.

Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP or request assistance by replying HELP.

2. Plume’s Service

Plume is a dating app designed to help people reconnect after naturally crossing paths in real life. The Service uses your device’s location to detect approximate proximity to other users and enable controlled profile reveals.

You understand that:

• Plume does not guarantee matches or interactions

• Plume does not perform background checks unless required by law

• Other users’ behavior is outside our control

Use Plume responsibly and at your own risk.

3. Visibility & Interaction Rules

3.1 Women

Women remain invisible until they choose to reveal their profile to someone they have crossed paths with. No one is notified that they were viewed unless the woman chooses to reveal.

3.2 Men

Men are visible to women after a physical encounter (cross-path event). Men only see women who have chosen to reveal themselves.

3.3 Same-Gender Configurations

Users seeking same-gender connections profiles are revealed to compatible users they have crossed paths with.

4. Location Permissions

To function, Plume requires access to your device’s location, including background location.

You agree that Plume may:

• Process your location to detect real-world encounters

• Use approximate zones to display generalized heat plumes

• Store encounter events so you can review past interactions

Your precise location is never shown to other users.

If you disable location access, Plume will not function.

5. Safety

You are solely responsible for your interactions with others, both online and offline.

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, stalk, threaten, or harm others

• Use Plume to track or monitor someone

• Use Plume while driving or in unsafe situations

• Post offensive, illegal, violent, or explicit content

• Misrepresent your identity or age

• Attempt to access or use another user’s account

• Use bots, scraping tools, or automated systems

We may remove content or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Plume may allow users to report unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
We may take action based on these reports but do not guarantee resolution.

6. Your Content

When you upload content (photos, text, preferences), you grant Plume a worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Host, store, and display your content

• Use your content to operate the Service

• Show your profile to compatible users per Plume’s visibility rules

You retain ownership of your content.

We may remove or modify content that violates these Terms.

7. In-App Behavior and Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service

• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code

• Interfere with the Service’s performance or security

• Use Plume for commercial or non-personal purposes without permission

8. Paid Features

Plume may offer paid features or subscriptions in the future.
Pricing and terms will be disclosed before purchase.
Payments are processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

Refunds follow Apple’s policies.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

• Violating these Terms

• Unsafe or inappropriate behavior

• Fraud, impersonation, or misuse

• Requests by law enforcement

• Long periods of inactivity

You may delete your account at any time.

Upon termination, your limited license to use Plume ends immediately.

10. Disclaimers

Plume is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee:

• That you will meet or match with anyone

• That encounters or reveals will lead to dates or relationships

• Uninterrupted or error-free service

• Total accuracy of encounter detection

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plume disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plume and its owners, employees, officers, and partners are not liable for:

• User behavior or actions outside the app

• Personal injury or emotional distress arising from interactions

• Loss of data or access to the Service

• Unauthorized access to your account

• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the Service

Your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Plume harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service

• Your interactions with others

• Your violation of these Terms

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of California unless otherwise required by applicable laws.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.
Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
Your continued use of Plume constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
